Juniper (Juniper Communis)
What is Juniper?
There are many varieties of Juniper, a coniferous shrub sometimes growing up to 49ft! You may be surprised to know that the fruit of these trees are not berries at all.
Juniper most commonly known as the main flavoring in gin, juniper berries are also incredibly versatile, offering medicinal and culinary uses!
Juniper:
Juniper is a diuretic, and strong antiseptic within the urinary tract. In the digestive system juniper is warming and settling. Taken internally or applied externally juniper has been known to help with gout.
