It’s been an interesting experience with physical distancing and economic shutdowns, and we have truly missed the energy of our fully staffed, 6-days-a-week busy apothecary with classes and consultations. Starting Tuesday, June 2, we will be returning to our pre-pandemic hours!
Tuesday through Saturday: 11 am - 7 pm (Roots is open until 8 pm and we may stay open later if it's busy!)
Sunday: 11 am - 5 pm
We are eager to restart our classroom and consultation room programming, so if you are a holistic & natural health practitioner and want to work with us, please let us know!
Our online shop will remain open for those who wish to do pickup, delivery, or out-of-state shopping.
And last, but most certainly not least, we are painfully aware that it's been a tough couple of months and that there is much suffering in our community, around the country, and all over the world. If you need help navigating quarantine related issues, please check out our quarantine-help link on our website. If we can help you source mental health-related nutrients, botanical medicine, or therapeutic resources, please reach out. And if you'd like to engage with us in how we can work together to end white supremacy, please contact us. We have so much to learn and so much action to take together to combat the dreadful illness of racism in our nation and in our communities.
In the before times, we hosted some amazing classes and workshops here at The Vervain Collective. As soon as everyone feels safe, we will get back into the classroom for a regular class schedule so we can share space in real life! In the meantime, follow us on IG, FB, and www.thevervaincollective.com for announcements about online and in-person offerings such as:
Qi-Gong with Dr. Jackie Schrempp, NMD, LAc
The "NMD is IN” series featuring Naturopathic Physicians and IDAANP members from all over the state!
Rosemary Gladstar's The Science & Art of Herbalism: we have a couple of spots available in this ongoing monthly course. Sign up for a one-time drop-in, or register for the whole 10-month series and you can take the classes you have missed thus far when we start the series again in January. Please join us; we're having so much fun! Read more below.
The Science & Art of Herbalism
We are delighted to be offering Rosemary Gladstar’s “The Science & Art of Herbalism” certification course, which is taught by The Vervain Collective’s Dr. Nicole Pierce, Lindsay Kolpitke, and Erika Knipe (with special guest appearances!).
This is a 10-month journey exploring herbal medicine that will engage the senses and the intellect while introducing you to a wide range of herbal topics and techniques. In this small-group setting, we will help you cultivate the confidence to support radiant health and address a myriad of health complaints using herbs. This program is designed to be fun and challenging as it guides students in extensive study - expect to spend about 20-30 hours outside of class hours per month studying and completing the homework assignments (Vervain teachers will grade and submit your homework for official certification).
This course will deepen your understanding of healing herbs and introduce you to a wide range of herbal topics. 5 hours/month of personalized instruction includes:
Lectures in Herbal Materia Medica, Botany, Herbal Energetics, Anatomy and Physiology, First Aid, and Accessibility and Sustainability of Herbal Medicine, and Treatment Plans.
Hands-on learning: herbal infused oils, salves, tinctures, bath salts, sprays, infused honeys, syrups, vinegars, and much more!
Local plant identification walks and on-location exploration as weather permits to discover our local herbal bounty!
A comprehensive binder with the course text and dozens of recipes from Rosemary Gladstar's The Science and Art of Herbalism printed course curriculum.
Rosemary's newest video course: The Foundations of Herbalism video series.
Bring your curiosity and join us on this herbal adventure that will span seasons and body systems!
