About the event
St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum) is a plant that has been used as a medicinal herb for over 2,000 years. Learn more about the plant's medicinal properties at the Vervain Collective on Tuesday, June 24. However, St. John's Wort is also a noxious weed in Idaho! It can outcompete native plants and is toxic to livestock.

Take a walk with Boise Parks and Rec Foothills Restoration Specialist Martha Brabec to remove/harvest St. John's Wort at Polecat Reserve! Volunteer with the Boise Parks and Rec Weed Warriors to cooperatively remove invasive species where they form monocultures and outcompete native plants. Join Weed Warriors as they work with local organizations to stop the spread of harmful weeds and make our valley healthier!
We will be meeting at the Cartwright Trailhead for Polecat Gulch Reserve. There is no restroom or water at that trailhead, so please come prepared. The City will provide gloves and buckets, but…
